• Dual Language Implementation

    Duncanville ISD is slowly phasing out the Transitional Model of Bilingual Education. The Gomez & Gomez Dual Language Model will be implemented in it's place progressively each year, continuing with the 2019-2020 school year in grades PK-3rd, 4th grade will be added in the 2020-2021 school year.

    • Read 1 complete sentence.

    K:

    • Create write 1 full page (9 sentences) in L1  in 15 minutes. 
    • Create write ½ page (5 sentences) in L2  in 15 minutes. 
    • Read on grade level 

    1st  

    Create write 2  full pages ( 18 sentences) in L1  in 15 minutes. 

    • Create Write 1 full  page (9 sentences) in L2  in 15 minutes. 
    • Read on grade level 

    2nd

    • Create write2  full pages ( 18 sentences) in L1  in 10 minutes. 
    • Create Write 1 full  page (9 sentences) in L2  in 10 minutes. 
    • Read on grade level 

    3rd

    • Create write 2 pages (18 sentences) in L1 in 10 minutes
    • Create write 2 full pages (10 sentences) in L2 in 10 minutes
