Mrs. Renee Harbert M.ED

This is my first year to teach at Reed, but my second year to work in Duncanville ISD. I have an extensive Art background and a vast knowledge in a variety of different mediums and techniques. One of my passions includes Art history, and I have been fortunate enough to travel the world to visit several of the historic sites that I have studied over the years.  During my undergraduate studies, I was even granted the opportunity to study Art for a summer at the Paris American Academy in France. Art education is something that I have always been an advocate for, and I feel that it is essential for every child's well-being. Every child deserves to have an unbiased creative outlet, and I feel like it is my job to hone in on each child’s unique artistic abilities. In the words of Pablo Picaasso, "Every child is an Artist. The problem is to remain an Artist once they grow up."  I look forward to growing the program here at Reed and continuing student growth through the establishment of an Art Club on campus.
