Seeking Feedback: District Launches Survey on Safe School Reopening
Duncanville ISD wants to hear from you as we consider the safest way to reopen schools in August. Over the next two weeks, families and employees will have the opportunity to participate in a survey focused on this topic. By sharing your thoughts, district leaders are better able to make informed decisions about educating students.
For parents and guardians, click HERE to take the short survey. Employees have a separate survey that emailed, but it can also be accessed HERE.
School is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 12, and employees are already taking safety precautions to prepare for that date. Throughout the summer, all school facilities are undergoing extensive, deep cleaning and safety equipment is being purchased. That equipment includes infrared thermometers, additional e-mist cleaning machines, KN95 masks and more.
In addition, Duncanville ISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith created a Reopening School Task Force to evaluate multiple possibilities for how the district will educate students when schools reopen. No decisions have been made at this point. Part of the evaluation process is considering the trends and data provided by county and state health agencies.
When the COVID-19 health pandemic caused schools and business across the nation to close in March, we were all forced to make adjustments for the safety and well-being of our families. As we transition to reopening in the coming months, the district is getting prepared so you’ll be protected.
